The Association of Interpretive Guides of Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici National Park (AGIPNAESM) is a not-for-profit entity created in 1999 with the aim of looking after the interests of the interpretive guides of the National Park by representing them before the relevant public bodies and government departments, as well as by promoting and publicising their work and offering them opportunities for further professional training. All the guides who have been approved by the National Park, for having successfully completed its annual training course, are eligible to join. The association works to get the maximum benefit for the public and the professionals from guided activities in the Park,

and to ensure that these are carried out according to the current official regulations, and to the highest possible standards in matters of safety and quality. Towards this end, we organize and carry out continuous training and retraining to enhance the professional know-how of our guide-members. We collaborate actively with the National Park itself, and have close relations with other governmental and non-governmental agencies which share our objectives of making the natural, cultural, ecological and heritage values of the National Park better known and better appreciated by the general public, through environmental education and other programmes which showcase the Park’s many attractions.
